Insurance Calculators and Utilities
Three calculators that show their math. Each result is an illustration built from your inputs and the assumptions listed below.
Choose a calculator
A. Coverage Valuation Estimator
Estimates a life coverage gap range from income, a planning period, obligations, goals, existing coverage, and savings.
Limits: low case replaces 75% of income and high case 100%. Taxes, inflation, returns, and benefits are not modeled.
B. Deductible Strategy Planner
Compares two deductible choices. A higher deductible usually lowers the premium but raises what you pay if a claim happens.
C. Out-of-Pocket Risk Evaluator
Applies a deductible, coinsurance share, and out-of-pocket maximum to expected eligible spending. Premiums are shown separately and never count toward the maximum.
Calculation methodology and assumptions
| Tool | Formula | Not modeled |
|---|---|---|
| Coverage valuation | (Income x years x 75% or 100%) + obligations + goals - coverage - savings | Inflation, taxes, returns, benefits |
| Deductible planner | Premium + claims x the lesser of claim cost and deductible | Surcharges, sublimits, premium changes |
| Out-of-pocket evaluator | Lesser of maximum and (deductible + coinsurance share of spending above it) | Copayments, network status, non-covered services |

How to read a result
- Treat the output as a starting point for questions, not an answer.
- Change one input at a time to see which assumption matters most.
- Replace example values with figures from your own policy documents.
